About the Conference

Who We Are

The Alliance of Hispanic-Serving Institution Educators (AHSIE) exists to support the transformative work of the nation’s emerging and designated Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). Our mission is to advance equitable educational opportunities for students.

AHSIE is unique in its practitioner-centered approach. We collaborate with administrators, faculty, staff, and program leaders who are working on the ground to implement equitable practices that enhance campus culture.

As a community, AHSIE values and believes the following:

  • We believe excellence is achieved through integrity, trust, and respect.

  • We believe in a learning environment to achieve excellence and success.

  • We believe that student success is achieved through professional learning and leadership development.

  • We believe in responding to the needs of our academic and broader community.

  • We believe in synergistic partnerships that support student success.

Con Valor y Cariño: Advancing Educational Dignity

The 19th Annual AHSIE Best Practices Conference brings together practitioners, educators, leaders, and students from emerging and designated Hispanic-Serving Institutions for four days of learning, connection, and community.

In 2027, we gather in Seattle for Con Valor y Cariño: Advancing Educational Dignity, bringing the AHSIE community together to share ideas, exchange practices, build meaningful connections, and strengthen our collective work on behalf of students and communities.

Through thought-provoking conversations, practical best practices, meaningful networking, and opportunities to learn from colleagues across the country, AHSIE 2027 will create space for practitioners to connect, reflect, and take new ideas back to their campuses.

Join us in Seattle for four days of learning, collaboration, and community as we come together con valor y cariño.
