About the Conference

The 2024 AHSIE Best Practices Conference, Nuestros Cuentos: Sowing Seeds of Resilience and Persistence, will offer attendees a community space for HSI practitioners from across the nation to share best practices for supporting Latinx, first-generation, and low-income students at emerging and designated HSIs. The racial, social, economic, and health inequities faced by our students and the practitioners who serve them have been exacerbated by the recent rollback of momentous progress. Investing in the resilience and persistence of HSI practitioners is needed now more than ever.

The Best Practices Conference offers over 60 concurrent sessions showcasing the creativity, innovation, and commitment of HSI practitioners from dozens of HSI colleges and universities from across the nation. This event provides practitioners and educators at HSIs and eHSIs with the opportunity to network and share their knowledge while learning how to effectively manage educational initiatives and maximize grant funding.

The annual AHSIE Best Practices Conference provides practitioners from current and emerging Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) a forum through which they can share ideas, build partnerships, and influence the development of policies designed to increase student success and institutional effectiveness. The conference features an array of sessions that examine high-impact practices that elevate student success at HSIs.

The AHSIE conference also provides attendees with opportunities to network with leaders from other HSIs, share ideas regarding what does and doesn’t work for our students, develop professionally, and learn how to lead/move HSIs from enrolling to serving.
