Over the last sixteen years, the AHSIE Conference has created a space for HSI practitioners from across the nation to share best practices for supporting Latinx, first-generation, and low-income students at emerging and designated HSIs. The 2024 AHSIE Best Practices Conference, Nuestros Cuentos: Sowing Seeds of Resilience and Persistence, comes at a time when our Nation’s highest court has “roll[ed] back decades of precedent and momentous progress” for justice, access and educational opportunities in higher education.

Educators across the US who are guided by equity and justice in their corazones/hearts and in their work are left to grapple with this disheartening, although not surprising, atmosphere.

Investing in the work of HSI practitioners is needed now more than ever.
