This year marks the 18th Annual AHSIE Best Practices Conference, themed:
Leading Con Corazón: Reimagining the Power of Servingness
This theme calls us to lead with heart, boldness, and conviction. It redefines servingness, not as a checklist or compliance measure, but as a transformative ethos rooted in love and legacy.
What to Expect at the Conference
The Best Practices Conference features:
● 60+ concurrent sessions showcasing the creativity, innovation, and commitment of HSI practitioners nationwide
● Opportunities to network with peers and leaders from across the country
● Sessions focused on high-impact practices that elevate student success at HSIs
● Practical strategies for maximizing grant funding and managing educational initiatives
The AHSIE Best Practices Conference is more than a professional event—it is a forum for practitioners at current and emerging HSIs to share ideas, build partnerships, and influence the development of policies designed to increase student success and institutional effectiveness.
Attendees leave with new knowledge, renewed energy, and actionable strategies for moving HSIs from simply enrolling students to truly serving them.
What Servingness Means
Servingness is the intentional, holistic commitment not only to enroll students, but to serve them fully—through identity-affirming, equity-driven, and community-rooted practices.
It is a call to lead from lived experience, ancestral wisdom, and collective strength, building institutions that honor both the genius of our students and the resilience of our communities.
In Boston, We Will:
Lead with corazón – centering comunidad, compassion, and relational leadership
Reimagine servingness – moving beyond access to transformation, beyond metrics to meaning
Elevate innovation and equity – through storytelling, scholarship, and shared praxis
Build bridges across generations and geographies – sustaining the movement for education
